About Mrs. Wooden
Welcome to 5W! I am very excited for the year ahead!
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in kindergarten. I was greatly influenced by my mom and dad, who both worked in the field of education. After graduating from Dunlap High School in 1998, I went to school at Western Illinois University. Upon receiving my teaching certificate, I accepted a job teaching 5th grade at Canton Ingersoll Middle School. I worked there for seven years before returning to Dunlap as a teacher for the 2009 - 2010 school year. Coming back to Dunlap had always been a dream of mine, and I love working for such an amazing district with amazing students!
In December of 2012, I accomplished another goal, and received a master's degree from Western Illinois University. Now, I have the ability to become a principal! (Although I have no immediate desire to leave my students and classroom!!)
Both my husband and myself work for Dunlap School District, and we are very proud to be back in our hometown. We have two adorable little boys, Paxson (age 11) and Kaden (age 10) who will also be future Dunlap graduates.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me running around after my two little guys, watching Dunlap baseball, shopping, or spending time with my family and friends.
I truly value education, and set high expectations for my students. You will learn a great deal in 5th grade, all while have a blast!
